Rhea and Shaker Puppies 6 Weeks

6 Week Puppy Update 🐾

Our puppies are now 6 weeks old, and we've finally been able to spend more time outdoors now that the weather has cooled down. They absolutely love exploring the deck, where they have lots of room to run, wrestle, and pounce on one another.

Their favorite activity is racing through the tunnel, followed closely by their other favorite pastime... napping!

The puppies are also becoming acquainted with their future families. It's wonderful watching those first connections being made, and it's hard to believe that in just a few short weeks they'll be heading off on their own new adventures.

Rhea has decided that nursing isn't nearly as enjoyable now that the puppies are bigger and equipped with very sharp little teeth! While she would much rather avoid feeding time, she still sneaks into the puppy pen to check on her babies and give them a cuddle.

We're continuing to introduce good manners by teaching the puppies not to jump up. You'll often hear us repeating the cue "off" as they eagerly greet everyone they meet.

These little ones have also discovered that crunchy kibble is delicious, so we decided it was time to introduce puppy cookies. They unanimously agreed it was the best idea ever!

Each puppy is beginning to show more of their unique personality. Ms. Coxy prefers to play with her cookie before eventually eating it, while Mr. Rowan and Ms. Oara waste no time gobbling theirs down—just in case there's a chance to score another!

Every week brings new adventures, growing confidence, and even more personality. We can't wait to see what the next week has in store for this special litter!
